We aim to create an architecture of local adaptation; to climate,
environment and culture.

Our approach is to attempt to avoid falling into preconceived solutions to design problems through a process of detailed analysis of site and brief prior to any design phase, and have experience in many sectors and at all scales - from master planning to product design. Working with an extensive range of consultants, teaching, and collaborations with architects, craftsmen and artists, all enrich the outlook of the studio.

Giovanni Valentino is a manufacturer of cutting edge leather goods, primarily handbags. The client requested a high profile image and design concept for a series of new shops worldwide. Our aim was to provide a flexible, lightweight system for any potential site.
We designed a series of freestanding, triangulated geometrical units to perform the function of the display and shelving. The walls were clad in lightweight triangulated glass and reinforced plastic panels produced from a single mould. The production process allowed various elements to be manufactured in one place ensuring the quality control of the prefabricated units. Potential store layouts were created using 3D modelling and the digital files were then used for the fabrication of moulds for a series of leather bags, home-ware and clothing, which we designed based on the geometrical concept of the shop.

The entire shop was prefabricated in Britain and installed by UK contractors in Milan. It was the first shop built in Via Della Spiga Milan.
